DA210 - Photoshop Elements

Description:

Photoshop Elements is an image editor with 80% of the functionality of the full version of Adobe Photoshop. However, it costs much less and is more user-friendly. Most commonly used by those who are not professional graphical designers who need to work with their images, it allows new users to make basic enhancements more easily than can be done with the full version. Often, just five minutes of effort in brightness, contrast, and color levels can recover a dull picture and bring it to most accurately reflect the original image.

This class will introduce some of the most commonly used features of Photoshop Elements, first with a lecture/demo/discussion and then with hands-on exercises.

Objectives:

Topics will include:
  • Navigating the work area
  • Image quality
  • Adjustment vs. enhancement
  • Lighting and color control
  • Sharpening
  • Removing flaws

  • Moving/cropping
  • Layers
  • Text
  • Painting and drawing tools
  • Panoramas
